Punch pizza was born in 2008 when founder John Sorrano returned from Naples, Italy, carrying a notebook full of authentic recipes and an unwavering belief: that punch pizza done right could be a transformative experience.

Starting with a single wood-fired oven in Roseville, MN, John and his small team committed to sourcing only the finest San Marzano tomatoes, freshly milled '00' flour, and hand-selected local toppings. Word spread fast. Today, Punch pizza serves thousands of guests each month while staying true to that original vision: bold flavors, real ingredients, and every pizza made with care.

2008

The First Oven Fires Up

John Sorrano opens Punch pizza on County Road B2 W with one wood-fired oven, three employees, and a mission to bring authentic Neapolitan-style punch pizza to Roseville, MN. The first night sells out completely.

2011

First Local Award & Recognition

Twin Cities Food Magazine names Punch pizza "Best Artisan Pizza in the Metro" — our first major public recognition. The award brings new customers from across Minnesota and validates everything we've worked for.

2014

Local Farm Partnership Program

We launch our Local Harvest Program, partnering with five Minnesota farms to source seasonal vegetables and herbs. Our carbon footprint drops by 30% and our menu becomes even more vibrant and seasonal.

2017

Expanded Kitchen & Catering Launch

Growing demand prompts a full kitchen expansion, doubling our capacity. We also launch our catering division, bringing Punch pizza to corporate events, weddings, and private celebrations across the Twin Cities area.

2020

Online Ordering & Delivery

We launch our online ordering platform and delivery service, keeping the community fed and connected during challenging times. Over 5,000 pizzas delivered in the first three months alone.

2023

50,000 Pizzas Milestone

We celebrate crafting our 50,000th pizza — a moment that represents not just volume but the tens of thousands of memories shared around our tables. We thank our guests, our team, and our community for every single one.
